1 in 5 Workers With AI Experience Are Earning $20,000+ More Compared to 6 Months Ago

ResumeBuilder.com, has published a recent survey report that explores the workplace advantages of having experience with artificial intelligence tools. The report also shares insight into the relative importance of AI experience in the current job market. Overall, the survey garnered feedback from 1,000 full-time corporate workers in the United States.

According to survey results, workers with AI skills have received larger pay increases compared to workers without AI skills. Among respondents with ‘some’ or ‘a lot’ of experience with AI tools, 57 percent are earning more than they did six months ago, 5 percent are earning less, and 38 percent are earning the same amount. Conversely, among respondents with ‘little to no’ experience with AI tools, 49 percent are earning more than they did six months ago, 5 percent are earning less, and 46 percent are earning the same amount. Regardless of level of AI experience, 86 percent of all respondents say AI skills are ‘highly’ or ‘somewhat’ in demand.

Survey data also shows that, among respondents who have AI experience, are earning more than they did six months ago, and received a promotion and/or raise at their current company, 89 percent say it is ‘highly’ or ‘somewhat’ likely that their promotion and/or raise was the result of their experience with AI tools. Likewise, among respondents who have AI experience, are earning more than they did six months ago, and started a new job, 98 percent say it is ‘highly’ or ‘somewhat’ likely that their AI experience helped them secure their new position.
