US-based electronics giant, HP has unveiled its premium Spectre range of laptops in India citing a surge in demand for feature extensive PCs.
The launched laptops include HP Spectre Folio and HP Spectre x360. HP claims that the demand for gaming laptops has surpassed that of conventional laptops.
“We do expect growth to happen across all segments. I think the premium segment purely as a percentage will grow faster. The traditional personal computer segment or mainstream is a very big part of the market, that will also grow, but grow at a slow pace,” said Sumeer Chandra, managing director, HP India.
The HP Spectre Folio laptop comes with a price tag of INR 1.9 lakh in India.
‘’There is a growing desire for personal computing devices that enable new experiences and are built for users who spend a significant amount of time using their laptop outside of the home,’’ said HP.
HP boasts of 30.7 per cent market share in India’s PC market. The company’s Spectre range will be available across its 200 retail stores in India.
