CyberArk has announced that CyberArk Identity access management solutions will be hosted in an India-based data centre, joining existing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings hosted in the country, including CyberArk Privileged Access Manager and CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager.

The local instance augments CyberArk’s expanding investment into India, including a 90-strong R&D team based in Hyderabad. The new hosted services will enable organisations to meet local data sovereignty compliance requirements, including those set by authorities such as the Department of Telecommunication (DOT), Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

Digital transformation has resulted in increased interactions between people, applications and processes, creating large numbers of digital identities. According to the CyberArk 2022 Identity Security Threat Landscape Report, the average employee has greater than 30 digital identities, while machine identities outweigh human identities by 45x. These identities often having access to sensitive data and assets and leaving them unmanaged and unsecured presents significant cybersecurity risk.

Said Rohan Vaidya, regional director, India at CyberArk. “Our new India-hosted services align with our commitment to helping organisations here avoid the compromise of identities and abuse of privileged credentials that so often allow a breach to become more severe. In addition, with our India-based R&D team focused on driving innovation, we will continue to deliver the industry’s most comprehensive Identity Security solutions to the Indian market.”

Over the last five years, CyberArk has grown its customer base in India and achieved adoption in key vertical sectors including banking and financial services, telecommunications, IT & Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES), manufacturing and Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). CyberArk solutions also help protect critical infrastructure that cannot afford to experience downtime. CyberArk works closely with a growing partner ecosystem consisting of systems integrators, regional value-added resellers, cloud and managed service providers, strategic outsourcers, advisories, and distributors to meet the evolving needs of its customers.

“While the effects of the pandemic appear to be regulating, businesses continue to adapt – they need to make sure security investments keep pace with the investments made to sustain their businesses during the pandemic. With our strong Identity Security SaaS-based offerings, organisations can easily scale up or down depending on their current needs,” adds Vaidya.
