The Flipkart Big Billion Days sale started on Wednesday with huge discounts on a wide range of products, especially electronics. The Flipkart offers on mobile phones went live a day later, with the lowest prices on iPhone 7, iPhone 6s, MacBook Air (which were all matched by Amazon India in its own sale), as well as great deals on smartphones Samsung Galaxy S7 and Huawei P9, along with a number of budget handsets. Now the company has come out with a statement that claims it has sold 1.3 million smartphones in the first 20 hours of the sale. It says this is twice the number of smartphones the platform sold during the same time-frame of last year’s Big Billion Days sale. The company also said the numbers sold this time is three times that of the nearest competitor.

Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale will continue till Sunday, September 24. So far, the e-commerce giant has offered discounts across smartphones such as the iPhone 7, Samsung Galaxy S7, and, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 to name a few. The sale also had price drops for other electronic products such as Apple AirPods, MacBook Air and HP Envy 13.3-inch laptops, Samsung’s 24-inch full HD curved LED monitor, Panasonic 40-inch Full HD LED TV, and JBL Cinema SB150 soundbar, among others.

The company says that the record numbers are largely due to various affordability schemes offered during the sale. It said that 1 in every 4 customers buying a premium smartphone did so via Flipkart’s Buyback Guarantee. Additionally, over 80 percent of the entire sales in the premium segment happened through offers like No Cost EMI, Exchange, and Buyback Guarantee.

Most of the offers on smartphones and electronics still remain halfway through the sale. Customers can find the Redmi Note 4 (4GB + 64GB) variant at Rs. 10,999, the Mi Max 2 (4GB + 64GB) for Rs. 14,999, the iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7 are still down to Rs. 39,999 and Rs. 29,990, respectively. The offer on JBL Cinema SB150 soundbar still hold strong at Rs. 10,999 (MRP Rs. 24,990), while the AirPods can still be bought at a sub-Rs. 10,000 price tag. In televisions, you can find the Panasonic 40-inch Full HD LED TV at Rs. 26,999 and VU’s 43-inch full HD LED TV for Rs. 22,999.
