Ola Pays INR 15 Lakh Penalty To Resume Operations In Bengaluru

The Karnataka State Transport Authority has lifted the suspension order on cab aggregator Ola after the latter agreed to pay INR 15 lakh as fine.

The penalty was imposed as Ola violated the license by operating bike taxis.

“We had issued a license to Ola to run cab services. They were also running bike taxi services in violation of aggregators license. Hence, we have levied a maximum penalty of Rs 15 lakh. Ola has communicated to us in writing that they will pay the amount today,” said VP Ikkeri, transport commissioner.

The authority on Monday floated a suspension order to Ola for operating illegal bike taxi services in Bengaluru.

‘’The chief minister wants the suspension order to be revoked and I have conveyed the same to the officials,” said  Karnataka chief secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar.
