As per the Counterpoint Report, the budget phone market doubled in Q1 2018 while the overall smartphone market remained flat.

These budget-friendly phones stand out either due to the smart pricing, unique designs, build materials or even long battery backup.

RealMe2- The dual-sim smartphone was launched in August with a launch price of Rs. 7,500. The smartphone comes with a 6.20-inch display and a diamond-cut design. The phone has a notched display which offers a more immersive viewing experience. It features a large battery that lasts over a day. It is powered by Snapdragon 450 Octa-core processor and a 4230mAh battery. Realme 2 sports dual-rear camera setup with 13+2-megapixel and an 8-megapixel front camera. The handset is available in two variants- 3GB+32GB internal storage and 4GB+64GB storage, both expandable up to 256GB storage. The phone comes in three vibrant colours- Diamond Black, Diamond Blue and Diamond Red.

Nokia 8110- HMD Global revives the “banana phone” with the Nokia 8110. The feature phone’s most highlighted part is its ‘Banana’ shaped curved look and the slider design. Nokia 8110 features a 2.4-inch QGVA curved display and runs on Qualcomm’s MSM8905 dual-core processor under its hood. It comes with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. In the camera department, Nokia 8110 features a 2-megapixel rear camera. Connectivity options on the Nokia 8110 include 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, micro USB 2.0, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It is best priced at Rs 5,999.

Tambo TA-40 Tambo Mobiles, a homegrown brand in India’s fast-growing mobile phone market, have come up with the launch of a new smartphone TA-40 categorized as “Superphone”. The phone comes with an intelligent screen which allows you to create shortcuts for your browser history. For quick and secure unlocking, the ‘Superphone’ features a multi-purpose fingerprint sensor and face recognition. In terms of security options, TA-40 will be available in 3 colours – Red, Steel Grey and Champagne. The phone comes with a price tag of INR 5,999. TA-40 comes with 5.45” IPS full view display. The Smartphone is backed by a 2,400mAh battery. TA-40 runs on Android Oreo (Go edition) and is powered by 1.3GHz Quad core processor. It comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal which is expandable up to 64GB.

 Xiaomi Redmi 6Redmi 6 is perhaps the best one to go priced at INR 8,499. The phone comes with an upgraded design, improved cameras and fresh MIUI 10.The Redmi 6 offers a 5.45-inch HD+ display and is powered by a new Helio P22 chipset that is coupled with up to 3GB of RAM. It is worth spending Rs 500 more on going for the variant that offers 64GB of internal storage. The Redmi 6 offers fingerprint sensor and face unlock options. It houses a 3000mAh battery and dual cameras on the back that include a 12MP + 5MP configuration.

 Honor 7S- The Honor 7S is one of the best feature-packed phone at its lower price point. The smart phone is available for INR 5,999.It comes with a couple of user-friendly features. The key highlight of this mobile is its eye protection mode that applies a blue light filter to the display making it easier to read.Honor 7S features a 5.45-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) TFT FullView display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 295ppi. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. Storage is expandable via a dedicated microSD card slot (up to 256GB). In terms of optics, it features single 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection auto-focus and LED flash. At the front, there is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with a dedicated LED flash.
