After Realme, Oppo Unveils ''Reno'' Sub Brand

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has launched a new sub-brand by the name ‘’Reno’’ in China and is all set to unveil a smartphone under the new brand on April 10.

The logo of the new brand is out on social media and appears to be a youth-centric brand by its appearance. It is expected that the new devices unveiled under the brand will cater to price-sensitive markets and will boast features as per the preference of millennials.

The company’s Vice President, Brian Shen floated the colourful logo of the brand on Weibo. Earlier on the platform, he hinted that Oppo may introduce a new brand in April for consumers across the globe. He also shared a photo which demonstrated a dual camera setup at the rear of the device.

Last year Oppo rolled out Realme brand in India at aggressive pricing which stiffened the competition in the country’s smartphone market. In July, Realme announced that it will become a distinct entity and will be spearheaded by Sky Li, former head of Oppo India.

As per industry experts, Oppo may be eyeing to replicate Realme’s India success in China with Reno.

Oppo is also working on its next-generation premium phone which is expected to boast Snapdragon 855 SoC coupled with a10x optical zoom which was demonstrated at Mobile World Congress this year. The smartphone is expected to be rolled out by the name Oppo FindZ and will be powered by a 4,065 mAh battery.
