Chinese electronics giant Huawei claims that it has shipped more than 10 million units of its flagship Mate 20 series smartphones in just 4 and a half months.
The company also claims that its recent Mate 20 series has broken the sales record of its predecessor Mate-series and P-series smartphones in the year-ago period.
While Huawei is on a record shipment spree in China, the company also announced that its smartphones are witnessing good traction in regions including Middle East, Western Europe, Asia Pacific among others.
“In four and a half months, Huawei’s Mate20 series shipments broke 10 million units! Thanks to the support, praise and recognition of global consumers, and the pertinence given by everyone. It is suggested that there will be more breakthroughs in 2019 and I look forward to sharing with you the joy of technological advancement,’’ said Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei’s consumer business
Last year in the month of December, the company said that its global smartphone shipments crossed 200 million units reflecting a gigantic 66 fold growth in a time span of 8 years. The company announced the shipment of 5 million Mate 20 series smartphones during that period which surged to 7.5 million units in the month of January.
Previously, He Gang, Huawei’s Consumer Business President announced that the company is eyeing about 230 to 250 million smartphone shipments in the year 2019.
The company is now all set to roll out its new premium smartphone range- Huawei P30 series, which incorporates P30, P30 Pro, and P30 Lite.
