Apple iPhone X India pre-orders start at 12:31 PM today

Apple iPhone X pre-orders start October 27 from 12:31 PM on Flipkart. Apple’s latest flagship device is listed as ‘Coming Soon’ and interested users can go for the ‘Notify Me’ option on the e-commerce site to get notified when iPhone X become available. All users need to do is enter their e-mail id. Apple iPhone X can be purchased in 64GB or 256GB storage variants in Space Gray or Silver colour options. The 64GB storage version of iPhone X is priced at Rs 89,000 while the higher-end 256GB model comes at Rs 1,02,000.

Though so far there is no announcement, buyers are likely to get cashback offer on Apple iPhone X purchases made via CitiBank credit card. Sources, who didn’t want to be named, told GadgetsNow that a cashback offer is in the works. It may either be flat Rs 10,000 off or 10% off. So far no offer is available on the smartphone on Amazon India’s website. However, Flipkart is offering 10% Instant Discount on EMI transaction on HDFC Bank credit cards.

Apple iPhone X is the only one of the three new iPhones launched (other being iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus) this year to have an OLED display. The smartphone with 5.8-inch OLED screen features Apple’s highest resolution phone display: 2436 x 1125 pixels at 458 pixels per inch density (ppi). The company has termed this Super Retina display. The HDR display also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10.
At this price, the iPhone X will be the most expensive smartphone in the country with closest rival being the Pixel 2 XL, which went up for pre-orders in India on Thursday at Rs. 73,000 for the base variant. Apple’s own iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus went on sale in India back last month. The iPhone 8 price in India starts at Rs. 64,000 for the 64GB variant and is Rs. 77,000 for the 256GB model. iPhone 8 Plus64GB and 256GB storage models come at Rs. 73,000 and Rs. 86,000, respectively.
Courtesy edge-to-edge display, there’s no Home button on iPhone X. Users now just need to tap on the smartphone to ‘wake it up’. It also has got a new gesture language, swiping up will launch the multi-tasking screen. To switch to another app, users just need to pause mid-swipe. Holding down the larger side button will launch Siri.
There’s no fingerprint sensor in the Apple iPhone X. The TouchID has been replaced by FaceID. iPhone X uses facial recognition to unlock. Users can set up FaceID by letting their iPhone X make a detailed digital “map” of their face. Apple claims that FaceID is much easier and safer. According to the company, there’s a one in a million chance of someone being able to ‘hack’ your phone. FaceID is said to be powered by a ‘neural engine’ powered by the company’s A11 Bionic processor.
iPhone X is the company’s first all-screen smartphone and sports a 5.8-inch Super Retina display. It packs Face ID, wireless charging, all glass and surgical-grade stainless steel body. It also comes with water and dust resistance. It has two 12-megapixel cameras with OIS. The rear camera now packs dual optical image stabilisation which includes new colour filter, deeper pixels, and image signal processor. There’s a 7-megapixel front-facing FaceTime HD camera. It is powered by A11 Bionic processor which comes with neural engine for supporting machine learning, augmented reality and 3D gaming. The iPhone X sports an all glass and stainless steel design with all-screen display.
