Apple is quickly hiring people with a machine learning background. The company has posted dozens of job listings for artificial intelligence (AI) experts, according to Reuters. Apple is likely trying to make its smartphones more intelligent by including machine learning-based features in them.
So far, Apple has already brought in some applicants from PhD programs and it is trying to hire more. Apple is clearly working on machine learning projects.
There are some upcoming services from the company that use machine learning. Apple News is going to predict what users want to read and iOS 9’s Proactive Assistant will predict what people are searching for.
Apple is currently trying to hire 86 people in the AI field and most of those job listings are for software development.
