Apple earlier this week launched three new iPhones – iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and its Tenth anniversary iPhone edition called iPhone X. The new iPhones come with wireless charging support and all-glass body.
In India, both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will go on pre-orders next Friday, September 22. As for sales, it will start on September 29 at a starting price tag of Rs 64,000.
Among the three new iPhones announced, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are up for pre-orders starting today in 30 countries across the world. The duo will hit the retail shelves on September 22 in these countries.
These countries include Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, UAE, United Kingdom, USA, US Virgin Islands.
The duo also comes with improved camera software that lets users click better portrait shots. The iPhone 8 comes with a single 12MP rear camera while the iPhone 8 Plus sports dual 12MP rear cameras. The new cameras are calibrated for augmented reality and come with accurate motion tracking tech. To recall, Apple iPhone 8 includes a 4.7-inch Retina HD screen, while the bigger variant comes with 5.5-inch Retina HD screen. The key highlight of iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus is their design. The smartphones run on the company’s latest 10nm A11 Bionic chipset with a 6-core processor. It is claimed to be 70% faster than A10, which powers the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus Islands
As for the video recording, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus supports full-HD recording at 240 frames per second. The handsets can also shoot 4K video at 60 frames per second. The iPhone 8 Plus comes with a new dual-camera feature called “Portrait Lighting”. The feature senses depth in the image and adjusts the lighting on the face of the subject accordingly.
The Apple iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus come in Silver, Space Grey and Gold variant and also support wireless charging technology.
All three iPhones come in two storage variants – 64GB and 256GB.
