AutoVRse Transforms Workplace Safety with Immersive VR Training During National Safety Week

Banglore, March 13th, 2025 – AutoVrse, India’s pioneer provider of Virtual Reality (VR) training solutions for enterprises continues to transform workplace safety. As India marks National Safety Week (March 4-10), industries across the country are embracing cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) technology to transform workplace safety training. In high-risk sectors such as blast furnaces, cement kilns, and medical equipment manufacturing—where precision can mean the difference between safety and catastrophe—immersive training is emerging as a game-changer.

AutoVRse is transforming workplace safety by leveraging AI-powered VR training to help industries tackle DIRE scenarios—Dangerous, Impossible to recreate, Rare, and  Expensive. In high-risk environments like oil rigs, where a fire outbreak is impossible to  simulate in real life, or pharmaceutical manufacturing, where a single mistake in drug formulation can lead to massive financial losses and safety risks, VR provides an immersive, risk-free way to train employees. By recreating hazardous situations with unmatched realism, AutoVRse enables workers to practice emergency responses, refine technical skills, and enhance safety compliance—ensuring industries operate more safely and efficiently.

Workplace accidents remain a pressing issue, with the manufacturing sector alone witnessing 240 workplace incidents in 2024, leading to over 400 fatalities and 850 serious injuries. Traditional safety training methods often fall short in preparing employees for real-world dangers, prompting companies to seek more effective, engaging solutions. With a workforce increasingly composed of digitally native Gen Z employees, there is a growing need for training methods that not only enhance safety but also align with modern learning preferences.

Speaking in the same vein, Ashwin Jaishanker, CEO of AutoVRse states: “Industrial workplaces pose unique challenges for safety training. Some environments are too hazardous to recreate, certain scenarios occur too rarely to train for effectively, and others are simply too costly to simulate in real life. With the next generation of employees learning differently,  it’s imperative that safety training evolves to meet their needs while ensuring workplaces  remain as safe as possible.”

Studies show that immersive VR training boosts knowledge retention by 75% and cuts training time by 40%, with Gen Z employees showing engagement rates of over 90% compared to just 30% in traditional methods. Industry leaders like Ultratech Cement have seen a 45% drop in safety incidents across 55 plants by training 60,000 employees in VR simulations. In a hazardous industry with extreme temperatures and toxic exposure, VR allows workers to practice emergency responses in a risk-free environment, enhancing their ability to handle real-life crises effectively.

Similarly, JSW Steel has improved safety compliance by 37% among new employees through VR-based training for high-risk tasks like lancing operations in blast furnaces. Previously learned through shadowing, this process posed risks of molten metal explosions and toxic gas exposure. Now, VR simulations enable workers to master critical techniques safely before entering real-world conditions, significantly reducing workplace hazards and improving overall operational safety. “The difference is night and day,” says a Safety Director at JSW Steel. “Before VR, training a new employee for lancing operations took months, and the first solo attempt was always nerve-wracking for the entire team. Now, Gen Z workers get to practice their movements and emergency responses dozens of times in VR before facing actual furnace conditions.”

As part of National Safety Week, several companies are launching immersive training programs to tackle their most challenging safety concerns. These efforts align with this year’s theme, “Empowering the Next Generation of Safety Leaders,” reinforcing the commitment to fostering a culture of safety and preparedness.

Observed annually from March 4-10, National Safety Week promotes awareness of workplace safety protocols and best practices. With support from the National Safety Council and leading industrial organizations, AutoVrse’s VR-based training serves as a reminder that technology-driven training is not just the future—it is the present, ensuring that workplaces across India become safer for generations to come.
