Walmart has partnered with PhonePe for digital payments at its 23 Best Price wholesale cash and carry stores. Utilizing the application, customers can now make payments for their purchases in the 23 stores via Unified Payments Interface(UPI), PhonePe Wallet and other Wallets as well as with Debit and Credit Cards.
The collaboration will also enable customers to make online payments or via Walmart’s assisted ordering solution. This solution will also enable PhonePe to enhance its presence in the offline domain. Walmart boasts of more than a million registered customers which will now benefit from this collaboration.
This collaboration will help customers who are small scale retailers mostly to make transactions digitally, said Sameer Nigam, chief executive officer, PhonePe
“UPI is the fasting-growing type of digital payment in India, providing convenience and seamless experience to users. The PhonePe payment system will help our members streamline their business processes and spend more time in their stores with customers,” said Krish Iyer, CEO, Walmart India.
