Space Summit 2026 Unveils its Conference Agenda Amid Record Growth in the Global Space Economy

SINGAPORE (28 August 2025) – The global space economy is growing at record rates, with US$630 billion recorded in 2023 and projections of US$1.8 trillion by 2035i as space-enabled services scale up across communications, climate resilience and security. Space is an ever more essential component of our everyday lives.

Against this backdrop, the conference agenda was unveiled today for Space Summit 2026, a leadership forum to be held on 2–3 February in conjunction with Singapore Airshow 2026. Singapore’s established role as a hub for aerospace and technology makes it the natural home for the Space Summit – an initiative designed to have impact across Asia-Pacific and beyond.

Themed “New Frontiers: Shaping a Responsible and Inclusive Space Future”, Space Summit 2026 will bring together national space agencies, policymakers, investors and key industry players from the region and around the world. Comprising two days of conference and exhibition, the Summit will address capability, regulatory and investment gaps as well as find ways to shape an inclusive, commercially viable and sustainable future for the space and space-adjacent sectors.

The flagship event will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands Singapore and organised by the Singapore Airshow organiser Experia Events. Space Summit 2026 is officially endorsed by the Office for Space Technology & Industry (OSTIn), Singapore’s national space office under the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). Other supporting organisations include Singapore’s Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Association of Aerospace Industries Singapore (AAIS). AAIS is the Association Partner for Singapore Pavilion at Space Summit 2026. There will be industry networking events in the lead up to Space Summit 2026, including one in September in Singapore and another at the upcoming International Astronautical Congress (IAC) 2025 in Sydney, to promote the conference and exhibition to the industry.

Advanced space technology is an enabler of growth, security and sustainability,” said Leck Chet Lam, Managing Director of Experia Events. “Space Summit 2026 builds on Singapore’s strengths as a hub for global dialogue. Space Summit 2026 will bring together partners whose collaboration will extend across the global space ecosystem. It is about open dialogue, developing partnerships and meaningful connections between public and private sectors. Experia is proud to provide Space Summit 2026 as the platform for these conversations to take shape.”

The announcement comes as Singapore advances its own space ambitions. In February 2025, the Singapore Government announced the Singapore Space Sector: Next Bound of Development, setting up a refreshed strategy to grow Singapore’s space industry and research ecosystem. Today, Singapore’s space industry comprises about 70 companies across the value chain with around 2,000 professionalsiii. To accelerate innovation, the Government has established the Space Technology Development Programme (STDP) which provides research and development funding to support companies in Singapore to develop new space related products and services. An additional S$60 million will be invested in STDP over the next two years, bringing the total committed STDP funding to over S$200 million. This will boost innovation in satellite technology, foster capability-development in Singapore’s institutes of higher learning and research institutes, and promote the commercialisation of research.

OSTIn leads national efforts in developing Singapore’s space sector and growing international partnerships. For Space Summit 2026, OSTIn is inviting space agencies from around the world to speak at the conference.

The conference’s opening panel session is: ‘Heads of Space Agency Plenary Collaborative Pathways: National Space Programmes and Partnership Models.’ National space agencies from Southeast Asia will also feature prominently in the conference’s second day, with the opening panel session entitled ‘Space for Everyone, Everyday: How Space Impacts Daily Lives in Southeast Asia’. Space agency chiefs from Southeast Asia will discuss how space technology is improving lives across Southeast Asia from satellite navigation and weather forecasting to disaster response, agriculture and connectivity.

This regional panel discussion aligns with regional initiatives spearheaded by OSTIn such as the Earth Observation Initiative launched in February 2025, which leverages satellite technology to address pressing sustainability and humanitarian challenges across the Asia Pacific.

Jonathan Hung, Executive Director, OSTIn said, “The Space Summit 2026 will be a key regional platform for the space industry, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and innovators to forge partnerships and develop solutions to real-world challenges. Space technologies already underpin Singapore’s aviation, telecommunications and maritime sectors, and will play an even greater role in the future. With its potential to create high-value jobs for Singaporeans and help address global challenges like climate change, the space industry represents a driver of economic growth for Singapore. OSTIn looks forward to shaping this future and further strengthening Singapore’s role as a trusted hub for space innovation and collaboration.”

Space Summit 2026 will be a rallying point for the global space community in the new frontiers of space. It invites agencies, businesses, and innovators to Singapore not only to exchange ideas, but to forge the partnerships that will define Asia Pacific’s role in the future in-space economy.
