Teradata and Ingram Micro Bring Multi-Cloud Data Analytics to Customers Across India

Edubridge, India

Teradata recently announced its collaboration with Ingram Micro, the world’s largest IT distributor, to help customers across India transition to and implement Teradata Vantage in the cloud to meet the unprecedented demand for data-driven business intelligence. This relationship combines the multi-cloud data platform that unifies analytics, data lakes and data warehouses – Teradata Vantage – with Ingram Micro’s extensive distribution networks that ensure large-scale and uninterrupted access to these services.

Today’s announcement addresses the needs of organizations in one of the world’s fastest growing economies—India is estimated to become a one-trillion-dollar digital economy by 2025, according to its Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). With about 50 percent of this potential economic value coming from new digital ecosystems in agriculture, financial services, healthcare, logistics, and others, India now sits amongst some of the biggest players in the data center sector across South Asia.

As organizations continue to pick up the pace of digital adoption, many are looking at how they can take their cloud strategy to the next level with scalable hybrid multi-cloud platforms for more reliable management of expanding workloads.

“The global pandemic has provided strong impetus for organizations worldwide to advance their digital transformation at every level, and India is no exception,” said Darryl McKinnon, Vice President of Teradata, South Asia. “Our partnership with Ingram Micro is crucial for bringing this transformation to life for customers and giving them the power of data analytics through our Vantage multi-cloud data platform.”

“Furthermore, the pandemic has made remote workforce support essential, which, as many businesses are coming to realize, involves consolidating important data onto a unified platform that is secure, scalable, and accessible to employees at any point of time, from any location. This is where Teradata excels.”

The joint capabilities of Teradata Vantage and Ingram Micro address this emerging demand from India-based companies for improved cloud services via solutions that eliminate data silos, reduce query costs across multiple clouds, and provide seamless cross-functional and company-wide data sharing.

Ashok Shenoy, Country Manager, India, Teradata, said: “With more than 30 per cent of Indian enterprises expected to move to the next phase of cloud adoption by 2022, we are pleased to roll out these enhanced cloud services to help businesses fully optimize their digital potential via actionable and data-driven business intelligence.”

Commenting on the collaboration, Jayant Gundewar, Executive Director, Advanced Solutions, Ingram Micro India said, “We’re excited to team with Teradata and offer their industry-leading solutions to help organizations across the country advance their digital analytics initiatives. As a market leader in value distribution, we look forward to leveraging our vast infrastructure, professional services and go-to-market (GTM) expertise to enable our partners to solve business problems and deliver better business outcomes for their customers.”

Teradata Vantage is the connected multi-cloud data platform for enterprise analytics. It enables ecosystem simplification by unifying analytics, data lakes and data warehouses. With Vantage, enterprise-scale companies can eliminate silos and cost-effectively query all their data, all the time, regardless of where the data resides — in the cloud, on multiple clouds, on-premises or in a hybrid environment — to get a complete view of their business.
