Samsung Electronics has unveiled the world’s first 5G smartphone in South Korea by the name Galaxy S10 5G. The country on Wednesday became the first nation to commercially roll out 5G services with three networks offering blazing fast download speeds.
The data speeds in the 5G technology allow users to download an entire movie in less than a second. The rollout was followed by Verizon in Chicago and Minneapolis in the US. The three telecom operators in South Korea including SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus held launch events across the capital city of Seoul for Galaxy S10. The smartphone comes with a price tag of $1200.
“I hope faster speeds will help me manage my time better,’’ said a user. The commercial launch of 5G will enable South Korea to develop the technology ecosystem including devices such as self-driving cars, IoT etc.
