While most smartphone vendors are planning to roll out their 5G compatible devices this year, South Korean electronics, LG is already working on 6G technology. The company claims to have already established a research centre in Yuseong district, Daejeon, South Korea in this regard.
While the rollout of a 6G enabled smartphone is still far off, the move does give the company with a competitive advantage of being a frontrunner in this regard.
LG has also collaborated with Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology for 6G. The company at present is focussing on launching its first 5G powered smartphone and has announced that will showcase it in Mobile World Congress(MWC) 2019 conference.
The company also claims to be in advanced talks with the leading cellular operators across Korea, North America and the European region. LG last year announced that it will supply its 5G smartphone to sprint, one of the biggest telecom operator in the US.
As per the company, its 5G smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor and will also sport Vapor Chamber for heat reduction.
