Facebook Renders Apology For Kashmir Post

Facebook has announced that it has taken down thousands of fake pages and accounts which mentioned Kashmir as a separate land from India and a few other countries.

The social media giant apologised for the error and rectified the blog post.

Facebook took down 513 pages, groups and accounts for getting involved in a behaviour which violated its policies as per Nathaniel Gleicher, Facebook’s Head of Cyber Security Policy.

Facebook released a statement on Wednesday stating that it mentioned Kashmir in its blog post while mentioning the countries and regions affected by the Iranian network.

“Kashmir was the subject of some of the content shared by this network, but it should not have been included in that list. We have corrected this in the blog post and we apologise for any confusion caused,” said Facebook.
