FLYING CARS ARE NO MORE A DISTANT DREAM!

FLYING CARS ARE NO MORE A DISTANT DREAM!

We have come a long way from hand pulled rickshaws to auto rickshaws to kali peeli taxi services to the currently trending Uber and Ola age. Technology is trying to make daily commute as easy as they can and day by day transportation issues are becoming less and less pressing. Personal commute, which is taken care by companies like Uber, Ola, Meru, Go cabs etc. are the new youth favorites in India. Uber is planning to take this up a notch.

Uber has recently hired an advanced aircraft engineer at NASA’s Langley Research Center named Mark Moore who had published a white paper outlining the feasibility of electric aircrafts that could take off and land like helicopters but were smaller and quieter. The vehicles would be capable of providing a speedy alternative to the dreary morning commute. Moore’s research into so-called VTOL — short for vertical takeoff and landing, is more colloquially called flying cars.

Uber isn’t constructing a flying car yet but it is one step closer to achieving that distant dream. The company has laid out a radical vision for airborne commutes and identified technical challenges.
