On 14th November, Goa’s Chief Minister, Shri Pramod Sawant, promised six educational benefits to the students in Goa through Vidhya Samiksha Kendra (VSK). Goa aims to fulfill these promises with the assistance of ConveGenius’ conversational AI platform, SwiftChat. This move is aligned with our honorary Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of improving student learning outcomes through data-driven reforms.

The promises delivered by Dr. Sawant include bridging learning gaps through formative assessments and remedial teaching, enabling anywhere, anytime learning via curriculum-mapped educational videos, enhancement of mathematical skills and knowledge in a guided environment, Strengthening language skills, including listening, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, improvement in oral reading fluency and speaking skills in Marathi and English, and instant doubt resolution.

SwiftChat captures various data points from schools, enabling the state to monitor, evaluate, and improve learning. The MoU between Goa government and ConveGenuius to adopt the VSK initiative was signed in July 2022. Since then, over 2,70,000 students and 13,500 teachers have been registered with a unique ID under VSK with the help of SwiftChat.

Taking this initiative a step ahead, the assessment assistant chatbot, Parakh, has also been launched on SwiftChat to strengthen student assessment practices under NEP 2020.

Additionally, all students will access developmentally appropriate content via nine learning assistant chatbots on the SwiftChat App from global and national educators. The content repository includes a Video Library bot to discover and learn from 3700+ curriculum-mapped educational videos from 28 partners and a Maths Practice bot to enhance their numeracy skills through 4000+ practice sessions curated by subject-matter experts. It also comprises a Read Along bot, an AI-powered reading assistant to improve oral reading fluency as per NIPUN Bharat guidelines, a StoryLand bot offering animated stories with same language subtitles (SLS) to focus on language comprehension processes, and a Doubtnut bot for instant video solutions to any question from the textbook. Furthermore, Word Hunt, Spelling Bee, Dictionary, and MindMaze bots are also available for building vocabulary, letter-sound knowledge, and word and sentence awareness among learners.

Speaking on the same, Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister, Goa, said, “Our PM, Shri Narendra Modi envisions extending the benefits of Vidhya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) initiative to the maximum possible children in the country. The Goa Government, along with the Directorate of Education, SCERT, students, teachers, parents, administrators, and ConveGenius, our EdTech partner, have united to achieve this vision. “

He adds, “With SwiftChat’s assistance, we will bring about a change, foster equity, and excellence in Goa’s education system, and bring VSK to the center of this systemic reform.”

Dr. Sawant acknowledged the work done by CSRs in the state and invited them to extend support to VSK, ensuring that educational reforms remain a priority for all. The launch was attended by CSR representatives from Vedanta, Sanofi, Godrej, and Lupin.

Mr Shashank Pandey, Co-Founder & President, ConveGenuis, said, “This is indeed a moment of pride and joy for us to have achieved this milestone in our journey of enabling EdTech for Naya Bharat. The benefits of Goa’s VSK will also extend to the teachers and admins via the teaching assistant chatbot to facilitate the delivery of evidence-driven pedagogy in classrooms; monitoring assistant chatbot to support real-time decision-making and improved accountability at district, block, and school levels; and training assistant chatbot that would train teachers and admins to perform their tasks effectively.”
